Senior Product Manager

Your mission
As a Senior Product Manager in the Data & Innovation team at CALM, you will be responsible for driving key product initiatives relating to how we can improve the user experience for all CALM audiences (Fundraisers, Volunteers, Subscribers, Service Users, etc.). With the support of the Head of Data Innovation and other stakeholders across the organisation you will help to launch new products and improve existing ones.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Can capture and translate user needs into deliverables. Can write and refine user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Prioritise features, maintain backlog, and guide development through delivery.
  • Translate product strategy defined by the Head of Data and Innovation, into detailed requirements.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the CALM audiences. Understand and validate the real needs of supporters/service users and communicate those needs clearly to the team and the organisation.
  • Facilitate the mapping of end-to-end product journeys, ensuring solutions are holistic and departmentally aligned. 
  • Able to detect underlying needs and goals - built from conversation with users and stakeholders, observation of behaviour and analysis of research and data.
  • Work with internal and external designers, agencies and providers to ensure excellent UX and delivery.
  • Monitoring customer needs and feedback, continually improving and expanding the experience.
  • Always keeping an eye on the ‘what next’ opportunities, ensuring we are analysing and iterating on our core product offering.
  • Share your Product Management knowledge and experience with your colleagues to help them develop their skills.
Here are example of some of the exciting projects we work on at CALM:

LOYAL - development of an account area/membership area for our supporters, to help them better personalise their experience/relationship with CALM in leading the movement against suicide and enable is to provide better support to our users.
QBOT - A chatbot that provides support to Service Users and Supporters inside and outside of our (human) helpline/webchat service hours.
RIO - We are building a chat-based triaging service (intelligent hold agent powered by AI and Machine Learning) to help people find support, advice and comfort when they are at their most lonely, vulnerable, and in need.

Your profile

The Product Team is a new growing team at CALM and we are looking for an experienced Product Manager who is looking to take on more responsibility and autonomy and is passionate about crafting delightful, user-centric products.

  • You’re experienced with backlog management and involvement in the research, design and engineering stages of product development.
  • Great analytical and quantitative skills, experience using data and metrics to prove or disprove hypotheses, and measure success.
  • Excellent customer experience intuition, and demonstrated success in creating innovative and user-friendly products.
  • Can effectively collaborate with third party development/engineering teams.
  • Superior communication and articulation of the product vision to stakeholders in both verbal and written forms, and getting their buy-in.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in identifying, analysing, and solving ambiguous problems.
  • Have a strong desire to grow and develop, and be ambitious. 
  • Autonomous, proactive, self-dependent.
  • Bonus: experience with ML/AI product development.

Salary
 £50,000 - £55,000
